Spiritual Principles in Sex and Marriage

image
This three hour experience gives participants the opportunity to think about their relationship in a way that is counter to main stream pop-psychology. There will be no suggestions for you to learn to compromise or negotiate with your partner. The work of marriage is far more meaningful than these basic "business skills". The work of marriage is the work of the developing soul.

The workshop does not require participants to share any personal information with the audience. All activities are done between partners of a couple. Dialogue is welcome but not required to receive the full benefit.

Part 1 – Living According to Principles

Most of us sometimes feel oppressed by our partner’s needs or criticisms or lack of energy. Human reactions to oppression are displayed throughout history – the positive and the negative. The reactions that we have in marriage are similar. We can learn from the greatest religious teachers in history on how to respond to a feeling of oppression right in our own homes.

Part 2 – Spiritual Principles and Sex

What does sex have to do with spirituality? We are all familiar with the Biological Model of sex which focuses on genital functioning and orgasm. And we all know that there’s more to sex than functioning! Yet many of us don’t know how to move beyond this over focus on feeling into the realm of spiritual and emotional connection during sex. When we can learn to slow things down during sex, we can learn to experience an infinite number of meanings and levels of connection we did not think possible.
