All of us "scream" at our children. The “scream” in “ScreamFree” refers not only to the ways we raise our voices to our children but to all the ways we react emotionally to them. “Screaming” refers to throwing your hands up in "defeat", to lecturing or explaining over and over, to coercing your children to get them to do what you want them to do. ScreamFree Parenting is not just about lowering our voices. It's about raising our integrity.
The ScreamFree Parenting 4-part series is currently being offered at Play Activity Center for Kids, a friendly and safe childcare facility in Roswell, Georgia. While you explore the ScreamFree concepts with other parents, your children will be well cared for by the staff at Play. Miriam Bellamy, LMFT is a certified ScreamFree Leader and Trainer. She has worked closely with Hal Runkel, author of ScreamFree Parenting, as well as with numerous couples on the issues they face in parenting everyday. Miriam has been a marriage counselor for 10 years and specializes in helping couples with issues around parenting, sex, money, and in-laws. She is happily married and the mother of 2 girls and uses the ScreamFree principles everyday.
